Kristine M. Sutphin, M.A., Medical Assistant
Kristine has been a Medical Assistant with Pomperaug Plastic Surgery since 2013, after graduating from Porter and Chester Institute. She greets her patients up arrival, answers phones, schedules appointments, and handles insurance authorizations. She also specializes in suture removals, staple removals, drain removals, and assisting Dr. Waitze with procedures in the office. Kristine is a people person and her job as a medical assistant allows her to interact with a people from all walks of life, which makes it that much more rewarding for her. She also enjoys the overwhelming satisfaction of helping others, her main reasoning in choosing to work in the medical field.
Miranda I. Bokon, Medical Esthetician
Miranda has been a Medical Esthetician since 2007 and part of the Pomperaug Plastic Surgery team since 2011. She specializes in Facials, Microdermabrassion, all levels of Chemical Peels, Skin Resurfacing, Truscult and Tighten. She truly enjoys being ni the beauty industry. She loves helping her clients enhance their appearance so they can always put their best face forward. There is no greater satisfaction to Miranda than knowing she’s helped a client achieve far more than what they were looking to achieve.
Kaitlin Pinney, MSHS, PA-C, Physician Assistant
Kaitlin knew from a very young age she desired to work in the medical field. She completed her B.S. in Health Science at Northeastern University, then moved to Washington DC where she completed her Masters in Health Science and Physician Assistant Studies at George Washington University. She returned to Connecticut after graduation and began her PA career in General Surgery and has since gained a great amount of experience in various subspecialities such as Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care, all while focusing primarily on Surgery as her specialty. She has had the pleasure of working with Dr. Sunny Waitze since the fall of 2013, where she has expanded her skill set to a wide variety of breast reconstruction and reduction surgery, laser aesthetics and overall global care of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery patients.
NANCY SCACCO, PRACTICE MANAGER
Nancy has been a Practice Manager since ____ and a proud part of the Pomperaug Plastic Surgery team since _____. At the office, Nancy oversees all aspects of the practice. She has her hands involved in virtually every facet that keeps the office running smoothly and efficiently, from issuing cosmetic surgery quotes to the scheduling of procedures. With her comforting and understanding attitude, Nancy brings the organization and functionality of the practice full circle. She assists patients with any cosmetic surgery financing needs and handles billing questions and insurance submissions. Her affectionate yet watchful characteristics give her the qualities she needs to not only help patients with every aspect of their time at Pomperaug Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Sunny Waitze, Medical Director
Dr. Sunny Waitze prides herself on her ability to transform the confidence and demeanor of her patients through her skillsets as a surgeon. After completing her undergraduate studies at Duke University, Dr. Waitze graduated from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. She completed an integrated General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program at Emory University, followed by a Fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at Yale University. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. With every patient, Dr. Waitze tries her best to lend a supportive shoulder and empower her patients to gain confidence in themselves and their bodies.
